Learning to Use New Digital Tool for Diabetes and Hypertension Management

Health professionals, patients and family members took part in two practical training sessions held in Prishtina on 7 and 8 September 2026. The sessions focused on using the digital tool MonitorIM designed to support diabetes and hypertension monitoring. The workshops introduced participants to the tool’s main features and provided hands-on practice in recording and reviewing blood glucose and blood pressure measurements.

During the first session, doctors and nurses learned how to register patients, manage current and historical health data, access the system in different user roles and identify trends in recent measurements. The second session guided patients and family members through using the mobile application to enter and monitor their own health information.

Niman Bardhi, Ministry of Health, addressed the opening of the session, pointing out that after witnessing the progress of testing the MonitorIM in Gjakova and Peja, the MOH and the Main Family Medicine Center of Prishtina decided to expand it to Prishtina. He thanked IHS Project for supporting this expansion. “This training will further facilitate the use of this application,” he said.

The workshops brought together representatives of the Ministry of Health, the Main Family Medicine Centre in Prishtina, the IHS project and the global CT Digital Kosovo team.
